Starlink Installation

Last updated: 12 October 2026

In short. This page is about Starlink installations. For other installation work, such as CCTV, firewalls or network equipment, your quotation sets out the work, the charges and the expected date, and the cancellation rules on our Returns page apply. Before we start a Starlink installation, you approve the job on a secure page. It shows the work, the charges and, where one has been set, the date. Extra work happens only if you agree to it. Cancelling before the technician is sent out costs nothing. Our work is covered for 6 months.

This page summarises the Installation Terms for Starlink installation jobs. The version you accept for your job is the one that applies to it, and a later version does not change it, except as section 8 says.

1. You approve the job before we start

For a Starlink installation, we send you a link to a secure DishNet page by WhatsApp. It shows your Installation Job: the job number, the installation address, the service and equipment, the charges and, where one has been set, the date. You read the Installation Terms there and accept them. We do not start work until your acceptance is recorded. The record keeps the reference, the time, the version of the terms and the details shown to you. That is the evidence of what you approved.

2. What a standard installation includes

Activating your plan, setting up your WiFi and showing you the Starlink app are part of your kit package where your quotation includes them; on a DishNet plan we activate your kit for you, as our Terms of Sale say. The Starlink service itself is provided under Starlink's own terms, and the installation does not promise a particular speed or coverage. Work that is not described in your Installation Job is not included.

3. Extra materials and work

Some sites need more, such as longer cable, a pole, extra brackets, trenching, conduit or electrical work. If so, the technician explains what is needed and what it costs before doing it, and goes ahead only with your agreement. You may say no. We then complete as much as the approved work allows, or reschedule.

4. What we need from you

5. Scheduling and visits

Either of us may ask to reschedule before the visit, and we confirm any new date. If nobody can give access at the agreed time, the visit may need to be rescheduled. The transport charge shown for your job, if there is one, may then apply. A transport charge, if your Installation Job shows one, pays for the technician's travel to your site. If no transport charge is shown, you pay none for the planned visit.

6. Cancelling

To cancel or reschedule, tell us on WhatsApp or by phone at +256 705 993 348, or by e-mail at info@dishnetafrica.com. Do it as early as you can.

7. Completion and sign-off

The installation is complete when the equipment is installed as described and the Starlink service is confirmed reachable from the equipment. If part of the work cannot be finished on site, the installation is complete when everything that can be done on site is done and what remains is recorded with you. The technician may ask you to confirm completion. Your confirmation records that you received the installation. It is separate from your approval of the job, and it does not take away any of your rights.

8. Safety, care and your property

Our technicians work safely and follow the manufacturer's installation guidance. We are responsible for damage our technician causes by negligence during the installation. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for damage caused by conditions that existed at the site before the installation, by instructions you gave, or by work done by others, and our liability for the installation is limited to the charges paid for it, with no liability for indirect loss. That limit does not apply to damage to your property caused by our negligence, or to death or personal injury, and we apply this to every job, including jobs accepted under an earlier version of the Installation Terms. Nothing here limits a right the law does not allow us to limit.

When the work is finished, the technician normally photographs the equipment and cabling installed, and our system records the location where the job was marked complete, where a location can be recorded, as our Privacy Policy explains. We keep any such photographs and that location to support warranty claims and future service visits.

9. Workmanship warranty

For 6 months after completion, we fix free of charge any fault caused by our own installation work. See our Warranty Policy.

10. If you install it yourself

If you buy equipment without installation, you or your installer are responsible for installing it safely. The equipment warranty still applies. Damage caused by an installation we did not carry out is not covered.
