Questions, answered

Everything Ugandans ask us most — and if yours isn't here, WhatsApp is one tap away.

Starlink can be used anywhere in Uganda where the dish has a clear view of the sky, from Kampala to the most remote village. Where Starlink's network is busy it can limit new sign-ups, so we check your address before you pay. We deliver and install kits in all four regions. Check the coverage page for towns where we also offer fiber and hotspot zones.
Every DishNet Starlink plan runs on the Starlink network — DishNet provides the package around it: delivery, professional installation, mobile-money billing, warranty handling and local support. The mapping is: DishNet Lite → Starlink Residential Lite · DishNet Home → Starlink Residential · DishNet Flex 24 / Flex 12 → Starlink Residential on a 24- or 12-month DishNet package with the kit included · DishNet Business 50 / 500 / 1TB → Starlink Local Priority 50 GB / 500 GB / 1 TB with a public IP. DishNet does not operate the Starlink satellite network itself.
Pricing depends on the kit (Mini, Standard, or High Performance) and current Starlink service plans. Message us on WhatsApp for today's prices — we'll give you a full quote covering the kit, delivery to your town, professional installation, and the monthly subscription.
In Kampala and major cities, usually 1–3 working days (Monday to Friday, except public holidays in Uganda) after payment. For upcountry towns we schedule delivery and installation together, typically within a week. The installation itself takes 2–4 hours.
Yes, with Airtel Money: dial *185*9#, enter our Merchant ID 4428146 (DISHNET AFRICA LTD), the amount and your PIN — it is free of charge for you. Then send us the transaction ID from Airtel’s SMS on WhatsApp so we can apply the payment to your account. We do not take MTN Mobile Money at the moment. For bank transfer or cash, message us on WhatsApp and billing will tell you how.
Starlink typically delivers 50–200 Mbps down with low latency — good enough for video calls, streaming, and gaming. Fiber plans run from entry-level home speeds up to dedicated business bandwidth.
Yes — no data caps and no throttling. You pay for a speed, not a bundle, and use it as much as you want.
We install a managed hotspot at your premises — a shop, hostel, campus, or trading centre. People nearby buy affordable time bundles with mobile money, and that revenue is yours. We handle the technology and support; you set prices and collect earnings. A WiFi zone needs a written agreement with us, a Starlink plan that permits selling access, and any licence the Uganda Communications Commission requires.
Yes — we supply and install camera systems from Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, Axis, and UniFi Protect, and firewalls from Fortinet, Sophos, MikroTik, and Cisco, anywhere in Uganda. See the security page for details.
Absolutely — we connect offices, banks, schools, health centres, hotels, and NGO field sites, including multi-site networks with automatic failover between fiber and Starlink. Ask for an engineering consultation.
Message support on WhatsApp any time. Some replies come from our automated assistant, and you can ask for a person at any time. Most issues are fixed remotely; when hardware needs attention, a technician comes to you, wherever you are on our coverage map.
Starlink uses roughly 50–75W. It runs comfortably on solar-plus-battery setups, which we can advise on and install for off-grid homes and businesses.
Yes — Starlink service is registered to an address. Tell support before you move: we check that Starlink has capacity at the new address, update it, and quote you for moving and re-installing the kit. If you move often, ask about a roaming plan.
Log in to the customer portal to see your invoices and payments. To pay, use Airtel Money: dial *185*9# and pay Merchant ID 4428146, then send us the transaction ID on WhatsApp. The Pay a Bill page has the steps.
Starlink kits: 12 months from the day you receive the kit, and we handle the claim with Starlink for you. Our installation work: 6 months. Other equipment: the manufacturer's warranty shown on your invoice or with the product, or 6 months where none is shown. If anything is faulty when it arrives or within 7 days of delivery, or of installation if later, you choose a replacement or a full refund. Your rights under Ugandan law come on top. See our Warranty Policy.
Yes. If you change your mind about equipment, return it within 7 days of receiving it. Faulty items are always covered. Refunds are paid within 14 days, back to the way you paid. Monthly plans have no cancellation fee and end at the end of the month you have paid for. Flex packages (12 or 24 months, kit included) follow their own signed written agreement. See Returns, Refunds and Cancellations.
